I will have the decklist posted at the bottom of the post so you know what my current list is. If you have any ideas, feel free to leave them down below. I also want to be able to get the most cards I can get out of my money. so while yes I do want some more "Expensive" options money wise. and because of this budget, I want to get the most bang for my buck. so not only do I need to find ways to get more mana onto the battlefield, but I also need to find cards that help my strategy at a very cheap cost.Īs of right now I am currently on a 50 USD budget. and most of the time I only have 5 or 6 lands anyway. some of the cards, while neat, are just very expensive to have in the deck because the only source of ramp I have is ] along with the usual mana rocks. This is a nice segway into the other glaring issue which is the mana curve. what I need to do is add is ways to add more ramp to the deck so I can bring back anowon later as well as cards that can still help me continue my strategy without anowon at a cheap cost. so in the event that my commander will most certainly meet his dire end. but there is literally almost nothing stopping my opponent from destroying my commander aside from my counterspells. don't get me wrong, anowon is a fantastic commander and a good value engine. Ill try and get some more games in with the deck and see if I want to switch. You bring up a good point, Phenax would probably be a better mill commander. Anowon just doesnt feel like a good commander for mill, it seems more incidental. If Anowon dies, then my strategy just gets shafted like my love life. To commit to the mill strategy I would rather build around Phenax or Bruvac. and since this deck is using rogues, rogues are known to steal things in DND, so I wanted to use that trope and turn it into a way of winning the game by milling my opponent and then stealing all of there stuff from there graveyard and use them to my advantage.Īfter playing the deck, I realized that the deck itself has two glaring issues. I also wanted to add in one other strategy that will hopefully make my deck more impactful. The deck I originally wanted to go for is a deck that not only mills your opponents by using my rogues. so I decided to crack it open and think about what I can do to change up the current deck. I wanted to make some changes to a deck that I really wanted to play, but instead, it has been collecting dust on my shelf to never see the light of day ever again. These cheap, evasive rogues provide good value with Anowon, the Ruin Thief 's first ability, and with his third ability can help restock your hand with more action. Hey guys, so why I have been digging a hole to my certain demise with my school work, I have decided to take some time and alleviate any stress I had and do something that I really enjoy. Anowon, the Ruin Thief heads up a tight package full of classic Rogues from Magic's history, including Invisible Stalker, Slither Blade, Triton Shorestalker, and others.
